Discovery Day: A Departmental and Career Exploration Day

On Friday, September 11, the Mississippi State College of Agriculture and Life Sciences will host Discovery Day: A Departmental and Career Exploration Day. This event offers something for high school students, community college students, school counselors, and career coaches . Your secondary ed and community college students are likely familiar with jobs in healthcare, engineering, and communication. But have they considered a career in natural resources, agriculture, or even environmental sciences? High tech, competitive pay, high job placement, and the chance to make a big impact on our world await them in our diverse career pathways. Mississippi State is the preferred institution among students in our state, providing hands-on experiential learning, research opportunities, and high job placement. Our world-class faculty are effecting change globally, yet our students still have a smaller faculty/student ratio for customized experiential learning. Help your students discover their future home at Mississippi State through the Discovery Day program.

This event is not just for secondary education and community college students. We encourage advisers, instructors, and anyone else needing information about our degrees to help educate your students. It’s important to know that a degree is always within reach.

Come for food, fun, and activities, but most importantly, for vital discussions to help your students become college and career ready while discovering all the possibilities awaiting them in agriculture and life sciences.
